This year, Saint Martin of Tours will be providing a new opportunity for parishioners and others to engage in the time-honored Lenten practices of almsgiving, fasting and prayer. On Friday, February 24th and Friday, March 30th, we will have a communal Stations of the Cross at 6 p.m., in the church, following the regular 5:30 Lenten Vespers.
After the Stations, all who are interested are invited to the parish hall for a family friendly meatless meal. Donations will be taken for this meal and then will be given to a charity serving those who are most in need. Please be as generous as you can, as we try to live out our Christian call to help the “least of our brothers.” On Friday, February 24th, the meatless meal will be provided by our American Heritage Girls Troop 1031. They will serve a meatless ziti, bread and salad. Please RSVP if possible!
On Friday, March 30th, our parish teens will be serving up meatless soups, along with grilled cheese and tuna sandwiches. All are invited and encouraged to come on each of these evenings – families, couples, singles, seniors and friends of Saint Martin’s parish! Please be part of this wonderful opportunity to better prepare ourselves for Holy Week!
