“Catholicism” Series Study Group

Beginning this Sunday, January 26, parents of religious education students and any other interested adults will have the opportunity to join in with a group that will be viewing Father Robert Barron’s “Catholicism” series on ten consecutive Sundays.  Father Barron created this groundbreaking program as a thematic presentation of what Catholics believe and why, so that adults can come to a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith. Not a video lecture, Church history or scripture study, this engaging and interesting formational program uses the art, architecture, literature, music and all the treasures of the Catholic tradition to illuminate the timeless teachings of the Church. These sessions will meet in the Golden Arrow Center each Sunday from 11:25 until 12:25. No registration is necessary, but space is limited. Please contact the rectory if you have any questions.

Pro-Life Signature Ad

Our church is invited to participate in a Pro-Life Signature Ad in memory of the more than 56 million babies killed by abortion since January 22, 1973.  The ad will run in the Sunday, January 19, 2014 statewide edition of the Courier-Journal.  The ad is sponsored by Right to Life of Louisville and suggested donation is $5 per name or line.  Check should be made to RTL of Louisville.  Signature sign-ups will be collected following all services this weekend, January 11 and 12.

Epiphany Open House

Everyone is invited to the rectory after each Mass this Sunday, January 5, for the annual Epiphany Open House. The Parish Council will provide refreshments. This is a great opportunity to invite that friend, neighbor or family member who needs a spiritual home.  Also this is a perfect time to meet those people you see every week but don’t really know.

Again this year, you have the opportunity to give an offering for an individual poinsettia or a set of candles to be place in the stained glass windows. Your gift will be in honor or memory of a relative/friend.  Their names will be placed in the crèche shortly before Christmas and also in the bulletin.

Suggested offerings:  $15.00 for flowers and $10.00 for seven day candles.  We will replace the set of candles once during the Christmas Season.
